Halloween In Northville, Michigan

The cooler weather means one thing to many people at this time of year, and that one thing is that the holidays are just around the corner. As the leaves turn brilliant shades of oranges, reds and yellows, and pumpkins seem to be in every store, we all get excited for the upcoming holidays. The first holiday of the fall season to celebrate is Halloween, and no one knows how to celebrate Halloween like the residents of Northville, Michigan.

Northville has a number of family-friendly Halloween events for the entire family. Costume parades for the kids, food contests, and a trick-or-treat trail are only the start. On this perfect fall day, we would like to share the upcoming Halloween events for Northville residents.

Sunday, October 20

Trick or Treat Trail

This coming Sunday is the annual Trick or Treat Trail at the historic Mill Race Village from 4:40 pm to 6:40 pm. The village will be open to preschool - 3rd grade children to showcase their costumes, trick-or-treat and visit the “not-so-spooky houses.”

Registration is required. To register, call the Northville Parks and Recreation at 248-349-0203 by October 18th at 4:30 pm. Advance tickets are $7 per child and parents are free. Admissions are timed, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early with your child’s trick-or-treat bag. For more information, please see the Northville Parks and Recreation’s website.

Saturday, October 26

Costume Parade & Trick-or-Treat Streets

On October 26th from 12 pm to 2:30 pm, bring the kiddos to the Northville Community Center at 303 W. Main Street to walk in the costume parade. Children of all ages can show off their costumes while trick-or-treating at the local merchants. Be sure to catch the Halloween puppet show held at Time Square at 1:45 pm.

Friday Night Festival

If you and the family can’t make it to the costume parade, be sure to catch the Fright Night Festival in downtown Northville on Main Street between Wing and Center. At 3 pm on the 26th, the Northville Patch reports that you can enjoy:

  • Hell’s Hottest Food Contest
  • Canine Costume Contest
  • Pumpkin Carving
  • Children’s Haunted Fairy Door Treasure Hunt

The second annual Fright Night Road Rally will begin at 6:00 pm. Not only will your family have a great time, but all the proceeds will be going to a Chicks4Charities campaign, No Child Goes Hungry. For more information, please visit the Chicks4Charities website.

Thursday, October 31st

The city of Northville will be celebrating Halloween from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Eight streets will be closed for vehicle traffic from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm to help ensure safe conditions for children who will be trick-or-treating. For more information, please see the City of Northville’s website.

Fire Station Open House

If you like free hot cider, fresh donuts and popcorn, then head over to the Northville Fire Station anytime from 6 pm to 8 pm Halloween night.

You may also like to stop by the Northville Community Center at 303 West Main Street where there will be trick-or-treating from 6 pm to 8 pm and at 7:30 pm, there will be a costume contest.
