Northville Independence Day Parade

  • Monday, July 4th
  • Downtown Northville
  • 10:00 am

The annual 4th of July Parade will take place at 10:00 am in Downtown Northville. It will be presented by the Northville Community Foundation and sponsored by St. Mary Mercy Hospital. This year’s theme is: CHEERS FOR TEAM USA! Celebrating the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Make sure to bring the whole family. The parade will be filled with fun attractions like: movie cars, vintage and classic cars, characters, bands, floats, a bike parade, and even a pet parade. If you want to sign up to be part of the parade, please see the registration form.

The parade will start at the corner of E Main Street and Griswold Street and head west to Roger’s Street. The parade will turn south to Cady Street and then head east. It will then move to S. Wing Street and head south. Finally, it will turn east on Fairbrook and end at S. Central. For a map of the parade route, please see Northville’s Independence Day Parade route.

Children’s Bike Parade

Sitting on the sidelines and watching the parade is great, but if you want to participate, you can and it’s easy. One way is by entering your children in the Children’s Bike Parade. This gives kids the opportunity to decorate their own bike in their best Fourth of July decor, and join the parade festivities.

The best part is that there is no pre-registration required. Show up on the NW parking lot at 7 Mile Road and Sheldon (Center Street) at 9:15 on July 4th and your children will be ready to roll. A judge’s panel will be ready to select the best decorated boy’s and girl’s bike. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Pet Parade

The Pet Parade is another easy and fun way to get involved in the Northville Independence Day Parade. All pets are welcome for this part of the parade. Yes, that includes pet fish, lizards, turtles, snakes, etc. No pre-registration is required for this either. If you are interested in participating in the Pet Parade, pick up a parking pass at Meadowbrook or Breckenridge Veterinary to participate.

You can check out what the fun looked like last year by viewing the photos from Northville’s 2015 Parade Photos.
