Northville Heritage Festival 2016

The Northville Heritage Festival - formerly known as the Northville Victorian Festival – will be presented by the Northville Chamber of Commerce. This year, running from September 16-18, the festival will be held in historic downtown Northville, Michigan.

This is the perfect chance for you and your family to take a walk through history. The following are highlights you won’t want to miss.

Mill Race Village

Among many other beautiful attractions, Northville is home to historic Mill Race Village, which was opened on land donated to the city by the Ford Motor Company in order to preserve historic buildings faced with demolition.

The village was once the site of a grist mill, but now hosts several buildings: an inn, a blacksmith shop, a school, a church, a gazebo, a rustic wooden bridge, a general store, an Interurban station, and several homes from the period of architecture prior to 1900.

Parmenter’s Cider Mill

Northville also boasts Parmenter’s Cider Mill, which was opened in 1873 and originally built to produce vinegar. Today, you can buy seasonal cider and donuts, as well as a variety of Michigan wines. The grounds offer a peaceful stream with benches and many play structures for kids. Hours of operation are from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday.

The Northville Heritage Festival features, among other things:

  • Non-profit and vendor booths
  • Victorian Parade
  • Pancake Breakfast
  • Car Show & Beer Tent
  • Vintage Baseball Game
  • Church Service
  • Kids Zone & Games
  • Victorian Tea at Mill Race Village
  • Petting zoo
