Northville Heritage Festival

Every September, Northville, Michigan hosts its Heritage Festival right in the heart of its downtown. This is the perfect opportunity to experience the charm and small-town feel of historic Northville. Since 1867, Northville has been serving as a town to the people nearby. Parmenter’s Cider Mill - the town jewel - is nearby and full of delicious treats during the festival.

This year’s Northville Heritage Festival will take place from September 15 through September 17. Be sure to mark your calendar. The hours include:

  • Friday, September 15: 5:00 pm – 11:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 16: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 17: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The festival officially opens with the Victorian parade at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 15. However, there are several events in the evening before and after the parade begins including:

  • Northville Schools 3rd Grade Program: 9:00 a.m. Students from Northville Public Schools 3rd grade classes will be participating in Victorian-related activities throughout the town.
  • Victorian Saloon: 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. This is one of the festival's most popular venues for adults. Look for it at the corner of Cady and Wing Streets.
  • Live music by The Shawn Riley Band: 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
  • Nonprofit Booths Open - 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (E. Main) There will be over 20 local nonprofit and school groups on East Main, providing food, games, and fun. This is a great way to support the community nonprofits and school groups.
  • Kids Zone - 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (W. Main) Bring your children for some old-fashioned fun featuring inflatables and hand moved rides.

Saturday is time to gear up for more family fun:

  • Northville Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast:  8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The pancake breakfast will be open to the public and will be held at the corner of Cady St. and Wing St. Tickets are available in advance or at the door.
  • Maker Faire Car Show and Beer Tent: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Festival Craft Booths:  11 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (N. Center)
  • Nonprofit Booths:  11 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (E. Main)
  • Kids Zone: 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (W. Main)
  • Kids Pedal Cars: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (E. Main)
  • Horse & Carriage Rides: Noon – 3:00 p.m. How would you like to take a trip around one of Northville's historic neighborhoods in a horse & carriage? The pickup and drop-off will be located at the corner of W. Main and Wing Street.
  • Farmer John Barnyard Express Noon: 5:00 p.m. Your children will love Farmer John’s small petting farm and animal show.
  • City 150th Anniversary Celebration: 1:00 p.m.Town Square will host the city’s 150th celebration. This event will feature Mayor Ken Roth and musical entertainment from the Dodworth Saxhorn Band.
  • Eclipse Vintage Baseball: 2:00 p.m. Enjoy a vintage baseball game featuring Northville’s own Eclipse Base Ball Club against the Monitor BBC of Chelsea at Ford Field.
  • Victorian Saloon: 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Sunday the fun continues through the afternoon:

  • Baptist Church Service: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The Northville Baptist Church will be conducting an old fashioned tent revival at the corner of Wing and Cady Street.
  • Festival Craft Booths: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (N. Center)
  • Nonprofit Booths: 11 a.m. -  4:00 p.m. (E. Main)
  • Kids Zone: 11:00 am – 4:00 p.m. (W. Main)
  • Horse & Carriage Rides:  Noon – 3:00 p.m.
  • Farmer John Barnyard Express: Noon – 3:00 p.m.
  • Mill Race Village: Noon – 4:00 p.m. Don’t miss the variety of events that are scheduled for Sunday at Mill Race Historical Village including the traditional Duck Race at 3:30 p.m.
  • Eclipse Vintage Baseball: 1:00 pm Catch another vintage baseball game featuring the Eclipse Base Ball Club against the Lah-De-Dahs at Ford Field.
