Would you like your kids to see Santa without going to the mall?

The holidays are right around the corner, and children everywhere are getting excited. With only a week and half to go until Christmas, we would like to share 4 events that are taking place this weekend in Northville, Michigan. Three are holiday related and the other is a community event that you won’t want to miss.

Three Holiday Events in Northville This Weekend

  1. Tinsel and Treasures Holiday Market – December 13 - 15

    If you are looking for a unique gift to give this holiday season, you will want to be sure to visit the Tinsel and Treasures Holiday Market at the Northville Community Center this weekend. This event will feature handcrafted gifts from more than 75 artists and fine crafts people. Items will include glass design, jewelry, sculptures and much more.

    • Friday, 12/13: 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
    • Saturday: 12/13: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
    • Sunday: 12/15: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

  2. Santa at Maybury Farm – December 14 - 15

    Maybury Farm is hosting Santa this weekend. On Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th, you can visit Maybury Farm and see Santa. You will even be able to see Santa’s antique sleigh and take a picture of your little one on Santa’s lap. Snacks, coffee, and of course hot chocolate are available while you wait to see Santa.

    This is the last weekend to see Santa at Maybury Farm, so make sure to stop by. According to the Maybury Farm website,

    Admission is just a smile and a donation! All donations help to feed the animals at Maybury Farm throughout the winter months.

  3. Santa in Northville’s Town Square

    Santa Claus will be visiting downtown Northville each weekend until Christmas and is sure to delight every child.

    Hours: 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
     

Non-Holiday Event

For a non-holiday event, you will want to head to the Northville High School for the attempt at the Guinness World Record for Lightning Game. The goal is to bring in over 700 participants and break the current record of 571.

According to the Northville Patch, the game is also called Elimination or Knockout and is played by multiple participants and with two basketballs. It is a fast paced game where participants shoot basketballs in order to survive elimination and to eliminate other players. The objective is to be the last remaining player.

Time: The game will begin immediately following registration at 1:30 pm

Cost: None. Donations will be accepted at the door and will go to the Lisa Christensen Memorial Fund for the benefit of her children.
