As the week and summer are winding down, many of us are ready and looking forward to the weekend. If you are a planner, you may be thinking about what to do in the local area. I do the same thing. It is one of the reasons I am glad that I live in the Northville and Novi, Michigan area. There are always a number of community events to enjoy in both cities.

Today, as you make your weekend plans, I wanted to share with you a little about what is happening in Northville, Michigan. Northville is not just another city rich in history. It is a city that offers a variety of family friendly events. This weekend, you can support local farmers at the Farmers Market, enjoy a free concert on Friday night, and take a walk through history at a vintage baseball game.

Northville’s Farmers Market – August 15

Over 125 Michigan grown products are available for you at the Northville Farmers market. Between the beginning of May and the end of October, the Northville Farmers Market is open every Thursday from 8 am – 3 pm.

Local produce aren’t the only products you’ll find there either. You can also purchase homemade jams and jellies, homemade salsa, and homemade pasta.

Northville’s Free Concert Friday Night Concert – August 16

Do you love Motown or rock music? How about the Blues? If you do, then on Friday night you will want to head over to the Town Square in downtown Northville for a FREE concert. This week’s featured band is the Global Village. The concert runs for 7 pm- 9 pm as is managed by the Northville Parks and Recreation.

Northville Eclipse Vintage Baseball – August 18

On Sunday afternoon, the Northville Eclipse, a Northville’s own vintage baseball will be playing against the London Tecumsehs at home. If you would like to experience what baseball was like in the 1860s, please plan to spend the afternoon at Ford Field in downtown Northville, Michigan adjacent to the Historic Mill Race Village.

Northville’s 1st Annual Northville Food Truck Rally and Beer Garden

Mark your calendars for Northville’s 1st Annual Northville Food Truck Rally and Beer Garden next Saturday, August 24th is Northville’s 1st Annual Northville Food Truck Rally and Beer Garden event. It will be located on West Cady (between Wing & 1st Street). While admission to the event is free and food or beverage purchased will cost money.
