There are three special events that you won’t want to miss out on this weekend in Novi, Michigan. The Novi Police Department is holding a Civilian Pistol Safety Class, the Novi Walking program is meeting again, and Novi residents can dispose of their hazardous e-waste. For more information on these events, please take a minute and read through the following information.

Civilian Pistol Safety Class

  • Saturday, March 28, 2015
  • 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Novi Police Department Training Center
  • 45125 W 10 Mile Rd, Novi, MI 48375

If you are looking to obtain a Michigan Concealed Pistol License this year, consider signing up for the Civilian Pistol Safety Class. This class fulfills the classroom requirements as well as the shooting.

Students must bring their own equipment. Below is a list of the needed equipment,

  • Personal handgun
  • 100 rounds of ammunition
  • Safety glasses
  • Shooter’s earmuffs or ear plugs
  • Pen or pencil
  • Baseball cap
  • Loose comfortable clothing

You must be 21 years of age or older to participate in the class. Students do not have to be a Novi resident to sign up. The cost of the class is $150 and that fee may be paid by cash or money order. Every student is also subject to a background check.

Novi Walking Program

According to the City of Novi, you can walk your way into fitness. This Saturday, the Novi Walking program is meeting at Kensington Metro Park in Milford, Michigan. The program is free and a great way to meet other people in the community while walking for fitness. All ages are welcome.

While the program is free, there is an entrance and course fee to Kensington. If you are planning on going, call ahead to RSVP at 248-347-0414. For more information, please visit the City of Novi’s website

Electronic Waste Collection
