There three big shopping centers located in or very near this small, primarily rural community: Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk; Twelve Oaks Mall; and Novi Town Center.

Dining and shopping come together wonderfully at Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk, an out-of-doors shopping entertainment complex, which contains a generous variety of retail stores, restaurants and recreation areas. Check out the cool and original retailers and eateries at Twelve Mile, such as Family of Pets, American Home Fitness, and The Great Indoors for your shopping pleasure.

Then when you get hungry or just want a snack, tickle your taste buds with some deliciousness at Godaiko Japanese Restaurant, Cold Stone Creamery or Buffalo Wild Wings. And, when you feel the stress of everyday life is weighing you down, pop into Gjeto’s Salon & Day Spa for rest and relaxation.

Twelve Oaks Mall

Twelve Oaks Mall is a regional favorite among locals and just happens to be the largest mall in the state of Michigan. It houses a diverse array of retailers and restaurants.

The mall has close to 180 stores and among them are some of the most well-known chain stores in America, such as Lord & Taylor, Sears and Marshall Field’s.  

It’s like a gigantic smorgasbord come to life in the Twelve Oaks Mall, with fast food favorites like A & W All American Food, Sbarro’s Pizzeria and Taco Bell, and some others you’ll be happy to discover including Suki Hana, Olga’s Kitchen, and Max & Erma’s. 

Novi Town Center

The Novi Town Center is an upscale, chic shopping destination located in the heart of the city. It contains Old Navy, Linens N' Things, TJ Maxx, and Mervyn's, along with Archiver’s, Casual Male XL, Sally Beauty Supply and Bodies in Motion.

If you find yourself feeling a bit peckish while you’re in the Novi Town Center, grab a bite at Potbelly’s Sandwich Works, Bonefish Grill, Pei Wei Asian Diner, or any of the other fine eateries that call this mall home.

Novi offers a number of other shopping and dining options that aren’t mall oriented. It’s home to a culturally diverse selection of locally owned restaurants, including Westside Coney Island Restaurant, Steve & Rocky’s Restaurant, Leo’s Sports Pub & Grill and Grinderz of Novi, Inc. The Main Street Village and Novi Main Street Merchants provide you with laid-back shopping and dining, if you’re not in the mood for the mall.

Parks and Recreation

The City of Novi’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department (PRCS) manages, maintains and oversees the community’s more than 1,000 acres of parkland and the associated facilities.

There are about 1,300 recreational and athletics classes and programs offered through the Recreation Division of this department. Some of the myriad activities and athletic programs in which the kids, adults and seniors of Novi can participate include multiple creative arts classes, sports including softball, basketball and yoga, and special events, like Take a Child Outside Week, Ringing in the Holidays and the Memorial Day Parade.

The Novi Senior Center offers additional recreation choices, such as wellness and fitness programs, socials and travel outings, and numerous other special events and activities for Novi’s honored elders.

Living

Novi’s longtime residents and newcomers enjoy a relatively large amount of employment opportunities in a wide variety of occupational fields.

Some of the city’s largest employers - according to the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report put out by the City of Novi in 2015 - include St. John Providence Health System, the Novi Community School District, Fox Run Retirement Community, Ryder (transportation and supply chain management services), ITC Holdings Inc.(electricity transmission), Eberspaecher North America Inc.( automotive controls), and Magna International (automotive supplier).

Schools, Health, Transportation

The primary public school district serving the city of Novi is the Novi Community School District. Headquartered in Novi, it facilitates a total of eight schools: Novi High School (Grades 9-12), Novi Meadows School (Grades 5 and 6), Novi Middle School (Grades 7 and 8), plus five elementary schools.

Convenient access to high-quality health care is yet another perk of living in Novi. The three foremost medical centers in the area are St. John Providence Park Hospital, Henry Ford Health Systems and Botsford Hospital.

Trinity Transportation Group provides mobility services to the lovely communities of southeast Michigan via sedans, charter buses, shuttle buses, motor coaches and school buses. Commuters here enjoy close proximity and direct access to major highways including as M-5, I-275, I-696 and I-96.
